Silent George Hendrick breaks his silence.
The man once dubbed “Silent George” by the media during his playing days broke his silence to the Rays’ Todd Kalas in order to jokingly berate David Price for relaxing poolside in Miami while the team was in Toronto. The Rays played 2 games in Toronto before a 3 game series in Miami, and they decided it was easier if Andy Sonnanstine and David Price stay home.
The thing is, George Hendrick really isn’t silent at all—only to the media. He loves talking to fans (I even know a fan that brought donuts to a game for George in part of a bet she had going with him), and he’s considered to be one of the best coaches by many players. I love that man.
