They’re a good team. And, I mean, I know they play in a crappy stadium and all, but is that really the reason why there’s no one at the games? Come on, Tampa Bay. WAKE UP. You have a good baseball team living in your area. Support them. And if the attendance for the game where 20k tickets were…
I honestly couldn’t even tell you the reason because fans like me that have been going there for a long time don’t hate the Trop at all. In fact, I love that stadium. As much as baseball should be played outdoors, you try playing much less sitting in Florida summer heat & damn humidity in the middle of July. IT MAKES ME WANT TO SHOOT MYSELF. So I love the Trop & its pumping A/C at 72 degrees.
So, yeah, I don’t understand why people aren’t going. In 2008, this time of year, it was PACKED.
omg I don’t understand why people wouldn’t PAY for tickets let alone go FOR FREE. FREEEEEEE. Honestly, I wish I could fly down there and go!!! Ridiculous.
I KNOW! The Rays have some of the most affordable tickets in all of SPORTS, not just the MLB. I live 2.5 hours away, and I go to my fair share of games. If I had my own car, I would go to even more games.
I understand that the Tampa bay area was one of the hardest hit cities in all of America by the recession, and the unemployment is one of the highest. But it’s the end of the season, the Rays are about to go to the playoffs, and you can’t cough up the same amount of money you pay for a week of Starbucks to go to a game?
Sometimes I’m embarrassed by my own fellow fans. It’s not fair to fans like me, or the other ones I know who go to games, but life’s not always fair I guess.
